D6 Virgin Fuel Oil
Unblended residual bunker fuel for industrial off-takers
D6 is a heavy residual fuel oil, the bottom of the barrel left after distillation, and "virgin" in the trade means unblended and un-recycled — no cutter stock, no waste-oil recovery. Typical parameters are sulphur ≤ 2.0%, kinematic viscosity in the 380–800 cSt range at 50°C, density at 15°C around 0.96–0.99 g/cm³, water and sediment ≤ 1.0%, pour point ≤ 30°C and net calorific value ≥ 9,500 kcal/kg. It must be preheated to roughly 100–120°C to pump and atomise at all, so it only makes sense where you already have heated storage and a burner built for it. CBIL brokers D6 with SGS certification of sulphur, viscosity, density, water and sediment and calorific value at load, against verified seller procedures and named vessel programmes.
Buyers reach for D6 over M100 when they want the cheapest available heat per tonne into a large fixed installation and are not bound to a GOST or ISO document — utilities, cement and glass kilns, and heavy-industry off-takers with existing heavy-fuel handling. Be aware of what you are giving up: D6 has no single governing standard behind it the way M100 has GOST 10585-99 or bunkers have ISO 8217, which is exactly why the term attracts loosely defined offers and why we insist on a full SGS panel and a traceable seller before a lot is presented. If your burner or your regulator needs a named specification, M100 is the better-documented choice; if you are bunkering ships, IFO 380 is. Supply is arranged on FOB and CIF terms by bulk tanker vessel and bunker barge from UAE, Kazakh and CIS loading points.

D6 Virgin Fuel Oil — buyer questions
What does "virgin" mean in D6 virgin fuel oil?
Unblended and un-recycled — straight residual from the refining process, with no cutter stock added to bring viscosity down and no recovered or waste-oil content. It matters because blended and re-refined material can carry contaminants and inconsistent viscosity that damage burners. We certify it by SGS analysis at load rather than by taking the description on trust.
How does D6 differ from Mazut M100?
Mainly in documentation and viscosity. M100 is written to GOST 10585-99, which fixes sulphur bands, viscosity at 50°C, density, water, ash and pour point — a defined document both sides can contract against. D6 has no single governing standard, so its parameters are set by the offer and the SGS panel rather than by a published spec. D6 is typically heavier and more viscous. If your regulator or burner OEM wants a named specification, take M100.
Why is there so much unverifiable D6 offered online?
Because the term has no governing standard and no mandatory certification behind it, which makes it easy to offer material that does not exist. That is the practical reality of the D6 market. We only present lots traceable to a named seller with a vessel programme, a full SGS panel and a workable inspection and payment structure — and we will tell you plainly when an enquiry cannot be met that way.
What handling does D6 need at my facility?
Heated storage and heated lines. At 380–800 cSt it will not pump or atomise cold — you need to hold it around 100–120°C for transfer and burner supply, plus tank heating coils and a burner rated for heavy residual fuel. If you do not have that infrastructure, D6 is the wrong product regardless of its price per tonne.
