CBIL brokers nitrogen fertilizer from primary producers in Egypt, Oman and Algeria: Egypt's Mediterranean and Red Sea facilities (Abu Qir in Alexandria, MOPCO at Damietta port, and Alexfert), Oman's deepwater ports situated on the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea (Sohar and Duqm), and Algerian terminals (Arzew). We supply agricultural-grade granular urea (SGN 200–300, 2–4 mm, crushing strength 2.5–3.5 kgf) and fast-dissolving prilled urea (including low-biuret ≤ 0.3% and technical DEF/AdBlue grades). Cargoes move in 50 kg PP bags with moisture-proof PE liners, 1 MT jumbo bags, and bulk Supramax/Handysize vessels with SGS/Intertek inspection at load port, for Southeast Asian oil palm and rubber plantations, sugarcane ratoon, and Indian Rabi planting.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.

Granular or prilled urea?
Granular urea (2 to 4 mm, SGN 200 to 300) is built for hardness: bulk blending with DAP and MOP and spinner spreading on broadacre crops and plantations. Prills are smaller (1.0 to 2.4 mm) and dissolve at once, so they go into fertigation, foliar mixes, UAN, resins and DEF, and should not be dry-blended because they segregate. Both are 46% nitrogen.
Where does CBIL's urea load?
In Egypt (Abu Qir, MOPCO at Damietta and Alexfert), Oman (Sohar and Duqm, on the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea) and Algeria (Arzew). Each cargo is contracted with the producer named and freight quoted on the actual load port.
Which markets lost Gulf urea in 2026?
Thailand took 57% of its 2.54 million MT of urea from inside the Gulf in 2025, New Zealand 55% of 496,000 MT, South Africa 49% of 859,000 MT and Kenya 72% of 214,000 MT. The Strait of Hormuz has been severely restricted since 28 February 2026, and those buyers now draw on Oman, Egypt, North and West Africa and Southeast Asia.
How is urea protected against caking on a tropical voyage?
Urea is hygroscopic. Bagged cargo ships in woven polypropylene bags with a sealed polyethylene liner or in coated 1 MT jumbo bags; bulk cargo is surface-conditioned and loaded at 0.5% moisture or less so that it discharges free-flowing.
