CBIL brokers recovered elemental sulphur from primary refinery hydrodesulphurisation and gas-treating complexes across the US Gulf Coast, Red Sea, Mediterranean and Oman. In North America, we broker formed granular sulphur from Texas export hubs (including Martin Midstream's Neches terminal in Beaumont and Houston Ship Channel berths), for phosphate producers in Morocco, agricultural blenders in Brazil, and nickel HPAL leaching plants in Indonesia. In the Red Sea, we broker Egyptian granular sulphur loading at Adabiya and Suez, and Saudi Red Sea granular sulphur subject to confirmation of loading. Material is supplied in granular, crushed lump, prilled, micronized powder and molten form at 99.8% minimum purity with certified low ash (≤0.05%) and heavy-metal-free catalyst safety (As, Se <1 ppm). Shipments move in bulk Handysize and Supramax parcels (15,000–50,000 MT) and 1 MT jumbo bags on FOB, CFR and CIF terms against SGS certification at load port.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.

Sulphur (Granular & Lump) — buyer questions
Granular, lump, prilled or molten sulphur: which should I buy?
They are chemically the same recovered sulphur at 99.8% minimum purity; the form follows the lane and the handling. Granular (2 to 6 mm) survives long voyages, grab discharge and open stockpiles with few fines and is the deep-sea standard. Lump is cheaper but dusts and suits short lanes with a melter. Prills (1 to 4 mm) go into bags and blends. Molten sulphur suits plants with heated storage on a short haul. Powder and sulphur bentonite are agricultural and industrial grades sold in bags.
Which buyers lost Gulf sulphur in 2026?
Phosphate producers in Morocco, India, Brazil and Jordan, phosphoric acid makers in South Africa, copper-cobalt leach plants in the DR Congo and the Ambatovy nickel plant in Madagascar all drew most of their sulphur from inside the Gulf. The Strait of Hormuz has been severely restricted since 28 February 2026. CBIL quotes sulphur from origins outside the strait into those markets.
Where does CBIL's sulphur load?
Oman, the US Gulf (Beaumont, Houston) and the US west coast, and Egypt, with the Saudi Red Sea coast subject to confirmation of loading. Each offer names the producing refinery or gas plant and the load port.
What certification travels with a sulphur cargo?
SGS or Intertek quality and quantity at the load port: purity, moisture, ash, acidity, organic carbon and trace elements, plus screen analysis and friability for formed product, with draft survey or shore-scale quantity at both ends. Sulphur ships as UN 1350 under the IMSBC Code.
