Frozen Vegetables & French Fries

Frozen fries, peas, sweet corn, mixed vegetables, spinach and okra in -18 °C reefers

Frozen vegetables are a reefer-container trade in two customs families. Frozen French fries (HS 2004.10) are potato strips par-fried in oil and frozen, bought on cut (7/7, 9/9 and 10/10 mm), style, coated or uncoated, length grade, USDA Munsell fry colour and defects including sugar ends, to Codex CXS 114-1981. Blanched quick-frozen vegetables (HS 0710) - green peas graded on round-hole sieve sizes and alcohol-insoluble solids to Codex CXS 41-1981, whole kernel sweet corn to the Codex quick frozen vegetables standard CXS 320-2015, mixed vegetable blends in stated proportions, spinach to Codex CXS 77-1981 and okra under HS 0710.80 - are mostly IQF and free-flowing, with block and portion formats for spinach and industrial use. Every product counts as quick frozen only once the thermal centre reaches -18 °C, and buyers audit pesticide residues against the destination's maximum residue limits (for the EU, Regulation (EC) No 396/2005) and Listeria control after blanching, since EFSA and ECDC traced a 2015-2018 multi-country Listeria monocytogenes outbreak to frozen corn and other frozen vegetables from one plant. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations put HS 2004.10 at USD 13.02 billion and about 9.1 million MT (Belgium USD 3.61 billion, the Netherlands USD 2.71 billion, Canada USD 2.07 billion, the USA USD 1.54 billion) and HS 0710 at USD 8.69 billion and about 6.0 million MT (China USD 1.61 billion, Belgium USD 1.53 billion, Spain USD 884 million, Mexico USD 607 million, the Netherlands USD 546 million, Poland USD 468 million, Egypt USD 305 million).

The buyers are foodservice distributors, quick-service and casual-dining chains, ready-meal, pizza and soup manufacturers, supermarket private-label desks and importer-wholesalers across the Gulf, North Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers frozen fries and vegetables from processors in Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, the USA, France, Poland, Spain, China, Egypt, Mexico, India, Hungary, Serbia and Türkiye against the processor's specification and certificate of analysis, the plant's BRCGS or IFS certificate, a halal certificate per lot where the destination requires one, a certificate of origin, a health certificate from the origin authority and a phytosanitary certificate where the destination's rules call for one. Retail bags, 4 x 2.5 kg fry cartons and 10 kg and 20 kg catering cartons move palletised in 40-ft high-cube reefer containers at -18 °C on FOB, CFR and CIF terms. Send the product, grade, cut or sieve size, pack, volume and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
