Carbon Black & Titanium Dioxide
N-series rubber blacks, pigment and conductive blacks, rutile and anatase TiO2, and iron oxide pigments
Carbon black and titanium dioxide are the black and the white of industry, and with iron oxides they make up most of the pigment and filler tonnage a compounder or paint plant buys. Rubber grade carbon black is bought by ASTM D1765 N-number on iodine adsorption and OAN; specialty blacks are bought on jetness, dispersion, conductivity and, for food-contact plastics and toys, PAH limits under Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and REACH Annex XVII entry 50. Titanium dioxide is rutile from chloride or sulphate plants for paints, plastics and inks, or anatase for paper, fibres, ceramics and medicines, graded under ISO 591-1 at R1 97% and A1 98% minimum TiO2. Iron oxide pigments are graded under ISO 1248 for concrete, coatings and plastics. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations sum to about USD 5.88 billion under HS 2803.00, led by China 20.4%, India 8.1% and Germany 7.5%; USD 9.13 billion under 3206.11, led by China 45.9%, the USA 11.7% and Germany 8.3%; and USD 709 million under 2821.10, led by China 45.7%.
The EU applies definitive anti-dumping duties of EUR 0.25 to 0.74 per kg on titanium dioxide from China under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/4, and on 1 August 2025 the Court of Justice made final the annulment of the EU carcinogen classification of titanium dioxide powder; India's 2025 duty on Chinese titanium dioxide was quashed and its collection stopped in December 2025. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers all five products against a certificate of analysis per lot, the technical data sheet, a safety data sheet, a certificate of origin and, for EU imports, a REACH registration held by the importer or only representative, in bags and jumbo bags in dry containers on FOB, CFR and CIF terms. Send the product, grade, tonnage and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.
Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
