Fruit Juice Concentrates

FCOJ, apple, pineapple and grape juice concentrate by the drum, the container and the bulk cargo, non-alcoholic

Fruit juice concentrate is juice with most of its water removed by evaporation, packed frozen or aseptically and shipped to packers and bottlers who add the water back, and four concentrates carry most of the trade CBIL works. Frozen concentrated orange juice (HS 2009.11 / 2009.19) is standardised to about 65 °Brix and bought on Brix/acid ratio, acidity and pulp, in frozen drums at -18 °C or in bulk through the Brazilian processors' terminals, with the ICE Futures U.S. FCOJ-A contract as the price reference; apple juice concentrate (HS 2009.71 / 2009.79) is clear 70-72 °Brix concentrate bought on colour at 440 nm, clarity, acidity and patulin, which the EU limits to 50 µg/kg in fruit juices under Regulation (EU) 2023/915 and the US FDA holds to a 50 µg/kg action level on single-strength juice; pineapple juice concentrate (HS 2009.41 / 2009.49) is 60 °Brix, cloudy or clarified; and grape juice concentrate (HS 2009.61 / 2009.69) is red or white at 65-68 °Brix, with rectified concentrated grape must (RCGM) as a clear, neutral grape sugar for sweetening. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations put HS 2009 fruit and vegetable juices as a whole at USD 18.68 billion and about 11.45 million MT across reporters, led by Brazil (18.8%), the Netherlands (10.8%), Spain (6.7%), China (5.6%) and Thailand (5.1%). By product, frozen orange juice reached USD 2.60 billion, apple juice above 20 °Brix USD 2.74 billion (China USD 825 million and 534,866 MT), pineapple juice above 20 °Brix USD 545 million and grape juice above 30 °Brix USD 660 million (Spain USD 275 million).

The buyers are juice and nectar packers, soft drink and juice drink bottlers, dairy and ice cream producers, bakery and confectionery makers and ingredients distributors in the Gulf, Europe, South Asia and Africa, and the offer is a price per tonne of concentrate for a stated Brix, acidity, colour and packing. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers juice concentrates from processors in Brazil, Mexico, the USA, Costa Rica, Belize, China, Poland, Türkiye, Ukraine, Chile, Argentina, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya, Indonesia, Spain and Italy on FCA, FOB, CFR and CIF terms, against the processor's certificate of analysis, pesticide residue results against EU or US maximum residue levels, patulin results for apple, a certificate of origin, a health or phytosanitary certificate as the destination requires, a halal certificate from the destination's accepted certifier and authenticity checks to the AIJN Code of Practice, with SGF/IRMA certification where the buyer's system requires it. Aseptic concentrate travels in a sterile bag inside a 200-220 litre drum in 20-ft dry containers, and frozen concentrate in drums at -18 °C in 20-ft reefers. Every concentrate is non-alcoholic juice for beverages, food and sweetening, with the ethanol content reported on the COA within the limit on the halal certificate. Send the product, Brix, acidity, colour, packing, volume and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
