Feed Additives & Premix: Amino Acids, Choline Chloride, Feed Phosphates & Vitamins

Lysine, methionine, threonine, valine, choline chloride, DCP, MCP and vitamins for feed mills and premix plants

Feed additives are the concentrated nutrients that feed mills and premix plants add to rations, and six families carry most of the trade: L-lysine as lysine HCl (HS 2922.41) or granulated lysine sulphate (ex 2309.90); DL-methionine (2930.40) and its liquid hydroxy analogue HMTBa (2930.90); L-threonine (2922.50) and L-valine (2922.49); choline chloride as a liquid (2923.10) or on a corn cob or silica carrier (2309.90); dicalcium and monocalcium phosphate (2835.25 and 2835.26); and vitamins A, D3, E and the B group (2936) with the premixes built on them (2309.90). In the EU each additive carries an identification number tied to its authorisation, such as 3c322 for lysine HCl, 3c301 for DL-methionine, 3c307 for liquid HMTBa, 3a890 for choline chloride and 3a671 for vitamin D3, while feed phosphates are feed materials in the EU Catalogue, capped at 2,000 mg/kg fluorine under Directive 2002/32/EC. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations show how concentrated supply is: China declared 70% of HS 2922.41 lysine exports by value (USD 1.42 billion of USD 2.02 billion), 53% of HS 2930.40 methionine (USD 602 million of USD 1.14 billion), 54% of HS 2923.10 choline chloride and 41% of HS 2936 vitamins (USD 3.45 billion of USD 8.51 billion); China and Morocco lead HS 2835.26 calcium phosphates by value, and China and Peru lead HS 2835.25 dicalcium phosphate by tonnage.

Trade defence now shapes where Chinese supply can go. The EU applies definitive anti-dumping duties on Chinese lysine (47.7-58.2%, with an absorption reinvestigation reopened in April 2026), valine (31.3-53.8%) and choline chloride in all forms (90.0-115.9%). The USA issued anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders on feed-grade L-lysine from China on 16 September 2026, initiated investigations on Chinese choline salts in July 2026, and has kept anti-dumping orders on methionine and HMTBa from France, Japan and Spain since 2021. China's export curbs reported since March 2026 cover DAP, MAP and certain phosphate varieties, so a Chinese feed phosphate offer is worked only where the exporter shows the grade is cleared for export. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers feed additives from producers and trader positions in China, Korea, Indonesia, Brazil, the USA, Malaysia, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Morocco, Tunisia, Peru, Viet Nam and India, against the producer's certificate of analysis, a certificate of origin naming the plant, the EU identification number on EU-bound labels, the producer's FAMI-QS or GMP+ certificate and a halal certificate where the destination requires one, with the source declared for gelatin matrices and lanolin-derived vitamin D3. Powders move in 20 kg or 25 kg bags or 1-tonne bulk bags and liquid HMTBa in bulk, IBCs or drums, on FOB, CFR and CIF terms, priced per MT for amino acids, choline chloride and phosphates and per kg for vitamins; minimum lots are confirmed per product and pack. Send the product, grade, volume, pack and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
