Feed By-products: PKE, DDGS & Rice Bran

CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers the three by-products that a feed mill buys as cheap energy and mid-protein fillers alongside its soybean meal and grain: palm kernel expeller (PKE), the cheapest ruminant energy on the water, bought on fat, fibre, shell content and aflatoxin; corn DDGS, the ethanol co-product that displaces both meal and corn, bought on protein, fat, colour and mycotoxins; and rice bran, the milling by-product bought on oil content, free fatty acids and fibre, full-fat or de-oiled. The seaborne supply is concentrated. UN Comtrade 2025 export declarations show Indonesia at 5.37 million MT of HS 2306 oilcake at an average USD 126/MT and Malaysia at 2.38 million MT at USD 130, which is the PKE trade; the USA at 13.39 million MT of HS 2303 distillers and starch residues at USD 253; and the HS 2302 bran heading led by Argentina at 1.21 million MT, the USA at 0.92 million MT, Brazil at 0.84 million MT and Indonesia at 0.69 million MT. We work each enquiry against SGS or Intertek certification on the buyer's own limits, structure Handysize and Supramax bulk parcels on FOB and CFR terms with bagged containers for trial lots, and because CBIL also runs a chartering desk (LaycanDesk) the freight leg is quoted with the cargo.
