Beverages & Bottled Water
Bottled water, soft drinks, energy drinks, juice drinks, coconut water and RTD tea and coffee by the carton and tray in dry containers
Finished non-alcoholic beverages are a container trade bought by the carton or tray, and the product scope is non-alcoholic beverages only. Six families carry most of the enquiries: bottled water (HS 2201.10 for mineral and aerated waters, 2201.90 for other water), carbonated soft drinks (HS 2202.10), energy drinks (HS 2202.10 when carbonated, 2202.99 when still), juice drinks and nectars (heading 2009 for juice, 2202.99 for juice diluted with water), coconut water (HS 2009.89 when pure, 2202.99 when flavoured or sweetened), and ready-to-drink tea and coffee (HS 2202.99). UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations put HS 2202.10 at USD 15.06 billion (Austria USD 1.91 billion, the Netherlands USD 1.31 billion, Germany USD 1.29 billion, Thailand USD 824 million, Poland USD 700 million), HS 2202.99 at USD 13.64 billion (Germany USD 1.58 billion, the Netherlands USD 1.09 billion, the USA USD 894 million, Thailand USD 839 million), HS 2201.10 at USD 4.50 billion (France USD 1.83 billion, Italy USD 957 million) and HS 2009.89 at USD 3.51 billion (Thailand USD 727 million). Water is heavy and low in value per tonne, and about 75% of the world's bottled water is produced and distributed regionally, so long-haul water is mostly natural mineral water sold on its source.
The buyers are importer-distributors, wholesalers and cash-and-carry groups, supermarket private-label desks, convenience, vending and duty-free operators, and hotel, airline and catering suppliers in the Gulf, Africa, South Asia and Europe. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers beverages in the producer's own brand or the buyer's private label; for third-party brands, supply comes only from the brand owner or its authorised distributors, because parallel imports carry counterfeit, diversion and customs risks. Offers stand against the producer's certificate of analysis, the origin authority's health certificate, a certificate of origin and a halal certificate from a body the destination accepts, which reviews flavourings and their ethanol carriers against GSO 2538, colours and any gelatine. The destination rules are specified up front: Directive 2009/54/EC for natural mineral water and Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 for additives in the EU, the high-caffeine label above 150 mg/l under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, 21 CFR 165.110 for bottled water in the USA, GSO 9 Arabic labelling in the Gulf, SFDA registration by the importer in Saudi Arabia, the sugar-based excise on sweetened drinks in Saudi Arabia and the UAE since 1 January 2026, and the 100% excise on energy drinks there. Trays and cartons move palletised in 20-ft or 40-ft dry containers on EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR and CIF terms, and minimum runs are confirmed per product and pack. Send the drink, formulation, pack, label and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.
Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
