Kraft Paper & Packaging Board

Packaging paper is bought on grade, grammage and the strength figures on the mill certificate. Kraftliner (HS 4804.11 and 4804.19) is at least 80% sulphate or soda wood fibre in rolls over 115 g/m² and is bought on burst (ISO 2759), ring crush (ISO 12192), short-span compression (ISO 9895) and Cobb (ISO 535). Testliner (HS 4805.24 and 4805.25) is made mainly from recovered paper with a burst index of at least 2 kPa·m²/g, and fluting is semi-chemical (HS 4805.11) or recycled (HS 4805.19). Sack kraft (HS 4804.21 and 4804.29), 60-115 g/m², is bought on tensile energy absorption, stretch and Gurley porosity for multiwall cement and fertilizer sacks. Folding boxboard, coated duplex and SBS board (HS 4810.92 and 4810.32) are bought on DIN 19303 grade, grammage, brightness and Cobb. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations put HS 4810.92 at USD 10.55 billion across the reporters in the pull, led by Sweden, Finland and China, and HS 4804.11 at USD 4.80 billion, led by the USA with 3.86 million MT.

CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers paper and board between mills and their export agents on one side and corrugated box plants, sheet feeders, multiwall sack makers, folding carton converters and paper merchants on the other. Reels, and sheets on wrapped pallets, move in 40-ft containers or as breakbulk from large mills, on FOB, CFR and CIF terms per metric tonne. Each lot carries the mill's certificate of quality, packing lists with reel numbers and weights and a certificate of origin, with FSC or PEFC chain-of-custody certificates where the product is sold as certified. Chapter 48 paper and paperboard are in scope of the EU Deforestation Regulation from 30 December 2026 for large and medium operators.
