Biomass Fuels
Palm kernel shell & wood pellets for biomass power
CBIL brokers the two biomass fuels that move in bulk across Asia: palm kernel shell from Sumatran, Kalimantan and Malaysian aggregators, and industrial wood pellets from Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malaysian and North American mills. Japan imported about 4.0 million MT of PKS and 8.6 million MT of wood pellets in 2025, and Korea a further 3.9 million MT of pellets (UN Comtrade), almost all of it into utility boilers running under feed-in tariff or renewable portfolio rules that demand a certified, traceable supply chain. We source against the buyer's own fuel specification, gross or net calorific value, moisture, ash, fibre, chloride and durability, with independent analysis and draft survey at load, and we price the freight leg through our own chartering desk so the delivered cost per gigacalorie is one number. Supply is structured in 10,000–50,000 MT bulk parcels on FOB, CFR and CIF terms around the plant's burn schedule and discharge port.
