Egg Pasta (Tagliatelle, Fettuccine, Egg Noodle Nests, Lasagne Sheets)
Dry egg pasta and egg noodle nests, bought on the egg content, the semolina and the pack
Uncooked pasta containing eggs is HS 1902.11, a much smaller line than egg-free dry pasta and one bought on a single number: the egg content. Italian DPR 187/2001 allows the name "pasta all'uovo" only for pasta made exclusively with semolina and at least four whole hen eggs, not less than 200 g of egg per kilogram of semolina, and liquid egg product made only from whole hen eggs may replace shell eggs. In the USA, the noodle products standard of identity, 21 CFR 139.150, requires egg or egg yolk solids of not less than 5.5% of the total solids, and total solids of not less than 87%. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations under HS 1902.11 total USD 790 million and about 362,000 MT across 98 reporters: Italy USD 284 million and 98,500 MT, Saudi Arabia USD 221 million and 132,500 MT, Germany USD 40 million, the Netherlands USD 33 million, Belgium USD 32 million, France USD 19 million, the USA USD 13 million, Hungary and Poland USD 11 million each, Spain USD 4.5 million and Malaysia USD 4.4 million.
The buyer is an importer-distributor, a delicatessen or food-service distributor, or a private-label desk, buying a stated shape, egg content, pack and label. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers generic egg pasta from factories in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Hungary, Poland, the USA, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, against the competent-authority health certificate, the factory's certificate of analysis, a certificate of origin and, for Gulf and other halal markets, a halal certificate. Egg and gluten-containing cereals are both Annex II allergens, emphasised in the ingredients list under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, and US labels declare egg and wheat among the nine major allergens. For the EU, Regulation (EU) 2023/915 sets 600 µg/kg deoxynivalenol for dry pasta and 3.0 µg/kg ochratoxin A for products derived from unprocessed cereals. Gulf labels follow GSO 9 in Arabic with production and expiry dates on the original label. Minimum orders are confirmed per product and pack. Nests are fragile, so the carton and the stacking height are part of the offer; cartons ship palletised in 20-ft or 40-ft dry containers on FOB, CFR and CIF terms. Send the shape, egg content, pack, label market and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.
Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
