Dried rice sticks and rice vermicelli from Southeast Asia and China, gluten-free by recipe

Dried rice noodles and rice vermicelli are made from rice flour or rice and water, and customs classes them by whether they are cooked. Uncooked rice noodles and rice vermicelli fall under HS 1902.19, uncooked pasta not containing eggs, the same subheading as durum wheat pasta; precooked instant rice noodles, including instant pho with a seasoning sachet, fall under HS 1902.30, other pasta. That means no 6-digit Comtrade line isolates rice noodles. HS 1902.19 as a whole came to USD 6.40 billion in 2024 export declarations, where Thailand declared USD 186 million and China USD 39 million; under HS 1902.30 Thailand declared USD 452 million and China USD 982 million, figures that include wheat instant noodles. Viet Nam is a major rice noodle producer, but its 2024 declarations are not in the Comtrade preview. The trade names are practical: rice sticks by width in millimetres, fine vermicelli, bee hoon, and noodles cut for pho or pad thai.

The buyer is an importer of Asian foods, a wholesaler supplying restaurants, or a supermarket private-label desk, and the offer is a price per carton for a stated width, rice content, pack and label. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers generic rice noodles and vermicelli from factories in Viet Nam, Thailand and China, against the competent-authority health certificate, the factory's certificate of analysis, a certificate of origin and, where the market asks, a halal certificate. A pure rice-and-water noodle contains no gluten by recipe, but a gluten-free claim on an EU label needs gluten of not more than 20 mg/kg under Regulation (EU) No 828/2014, and some rice noodles carry tapioca or corn starch that must be listed; any wheat content is emphasised as an allergen under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011. Gulf labels follow GSO 9 in Arabic with production and expiry dates on the original label. Minimum orders are confirmed per product and pack. Cartons ship in 20-ft or 40-ft dry containers on FOB, CFR and CIF terms. Send the noodle width, recipe, pack, label market and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
