Native Corn Starch and Wheat Starch (Maize Starch, Food and Industrial Grades)
Native maize starch from India, the USA, Türkiye and the EU, and wheat starch from EU and Australian mills
Native corn starch is the starch separated from maize in a wet mill, dried and sifted, and wheat starch is its counterpart from the wheat-gluten process; both are bought against a sheet that is mostly about purity. Published corn starch sheets read moisture 13% maximum, starch content 85% minimum, whiteness 92% minimum and ash 0.2% maximum, and corn starch equilibrates near 12% moisture in storage. Corn starch is a cereal starch with low ash and protein content, and protein, SO2 and microbiology are read on the certificate of analysis. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations under HS 1108.12 total USD 1.39 billion and 2.44 million MT: India USD 274 million and 634,000 MT, the USA USD 155 million and 200,000 MT, Türkiye USD 126 million and 286,000 MT, Germany USD 84 million, France USD 79 million, Romania USD 74 million, Spain USD 67 million, Egypt USD 54 million and the Netherlands USD 46 million. China declared only USD 9 million and 20,000 MT, so Chinese corn starch is not a major seaborne origin. Wheat starch under HS 1108.11 is smaller at USD 340 million and 582,000 MT, led by Germany USD 52 million, Australia USD 52 million, Lithuania USD 47 million, Poland USD 41 million, the Netherlands USD 34 million, France, Hungary and Italy.
The buyers are corrugated-board and paper mills, textile sizers, adhesive makers, glucose and sweetener plants, pharmaceutical excipient users, and food manufacturers making custard powder, sauces, bakery and confectionery. Wheat starch is also bought by bakers and gluten-free-labelled food makers, where the gluten content on the certificate governs what can be claimed. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers native corn starch from India, the USA, Türkiye, Germany, France, Romania, Spain and Egypt, and wheat starch from European and Australian mills, against the mill's certificate of analysis for moisture, starch, whiteness, ash, protein, SO2 and microbiology, a health certificate and certificate of origin, with non-GMO statements where the mill holds them. Starch ships in 25 kg bags or jumbo bags in 20-ft and 40-ft dry containers on FOB, CFR and CIF terms; minimum orders are confirmed per product and pack. Send the starch type, grade, the moisture and whiteness limits, the pack, the monthly tonnage and the discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.
Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
