Fungicides: Mancozeb, Azoxystrobin & Carbendazim (Technical, WP, WG, SC)

Dithiocarbamate, strobilurin and benzimidazole fungicides, technical and formulated, supplied only where registered at destination

Fungicide offers are compared on active content, on the impurities regulators name, and on the formulation type. Mancozeb is a polymeric manganese ethylenebis(dithiocarbamate) complex with zinc: FAO specification 34 (December 2020) treats the technical as a technical concentrate declared at 850 g/kg, with a tolerance of 25 g/kg, and caps hexamethylenetetramine - a stabiliser added to prevent formation of the breakdown product ethylenethiourea (ETU) - at 20 g/kg, while its wettable powders carry above 500 g/kg; the former EU approval limited ETU to 0.5% of the mancozeb content. It is supplied mainly as wettable powders and granules. The EU did not renew mancozeb under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2087, which cites its classification as toxic for reproduction category 1B and endocrine-disrupting properties; authorisations were withdrawn by 4 July 2021 and the last grace period ended on 4 January 2022. Azoxystrobin, a strobilurin with systemic, translaminar and protectant action, is set by FAO specification 571 (January 2022) at no less than 965 g/kg and is mostly sold as a suspension concentrate or water-dispersible granules; its EU approval runs to 31 May 2027. Carbendazim, a benzimidazole fungicide used on cereals and fruit, has not been approved in the EU since 30 November 2014, and its relevant impurities are 2,3-diaminophenazine and 3-amino-2-hydroxyphenazine. Fungicide formulations are HS 3808.92. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations under HS 3808.92 total USD 9.74 billion across 101 reporters; leading reporters include France at USD 1.46 billion, China at USD 1.11 billion and 243,700 MT, Germany at USD 945 million, India at USD 931 million with the largest declared tonnage at 291,000 MT, Spain at USD 821 million, the USA at USD 789 million and Colombia at USD 259 million. Those are declared export values, not offers.

The buyer is a formulator, a registration holder or a distributor supplying potato, tomato, grape, cereal and fruit growers, and each product is supplied only where it is registered at destination: in the EU a plant protection product may not be placed on the market or used unless authorised in the Member State concerned, and in the USA an imported pesticide must be registered under FIFRA and declared to the EPA on a Notice of Arrival before it arrives. Where an active is banned or severely restricted in the exporting country, a Rotterdam Convention Party informs the importing Party before the first shipment and annually after. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers mancozeb, azoxystrobin and carbendazim from Indian and Chinese producers against the producer's certificate of analysis per batch, including the relevant impurities, a safety data sheet under the 16 standard headings and a label in the language and to the registration of the destination, a certificate of origin and dangerous goods documents. Section 14 of the SDS sets the transport entry, for example UN 3077 (solid) or UN 3082 (liquid), environmentally hazardous substance, n.o.s., in Class 9, or a Class 6.1 entry such as UN 2588, pesticides, solid, toxic, n.o.s. Powders and granules move in 25 kg bags or fibre drums, and suspension concentrates in 1 L bottles and 5, 10, 20 and 200 L drums, on FOB, CFR and CIF terms, priced per MT or litre; minimum orders are confirmed per product and pack. Send the active, formulation, strength, pack, registration number and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
