Frozen pizza is a baked good in customs terms: heading 19.05 covers bread, pastry and other bakers' wares, and pizza sits under the residual subheading HS 1905.90, which the US tariff breaks out as 1905.90.90.60 for pizza and quiche and under which US Customs has classified pizza from India. HS 1905.90 is a catch-all - it also carries bread, cakes, pastries and flatbreads - so its 2024 total of about USD 35 billion across 128 reporters in UN Comtrade is not a pizza market size and is not used as one. Buyers specify the style (margherita, four-cheese, vegetable, or a plain tomato-and-cheese base for the buyer's own toppings), the diameter and weight, the cheese content and type, whether the base is par-baked or fully baked, and the pack: a single pizza in a printed retail box, multipacks, or catering cases of 1-5 kg for foodservice. Quick-frozen food is held at -18 °C or colder; the EU quick-frozen foods directive allows brief rises of no more than 3 °C in transport and retail display. Shelf life is set by the manufacturer for the recipe and pack and stated on the proforma.

The buyer is an importer-distributor, a supermarket private-label desk, a foodservice wholesaler or an airline, school or institutional caterer in the Gulf, Europe, Asia or Africa, and the offer is a price per carton for a stated recipe, weight and pack. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers vegetarian and cheese pizzas from manufacturers in Italy, Germany, Poland, France, the USA, China and India, in the manufacturer's brand or the buyer's private label, against the origin authority's health certificate, the manufacturer's certificate of analysis and, where the destination requires it, a halal certificate that covers the rennet used in the cheese (microbial or fermentation-produced rather than animal), the emulsifiers and the flavourings. EU labels emphasise the Annex II allergens of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 in the ingredients list - cereals containing gluten and milk are present in every pizza. Because the cheese is a dairy product, a pizza entering the EU is a composite product under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2292: a frozen, non-shelf-stable composite travels with the official composite products health certificate and is checked at a border control post. Where the pizza is sold ready to eat, the manufacturer's Listeria monocytogenes controls under Regulation (EC) No 2073/2005 are part of the file, and baked cereal products fall within the acrylamide mitigation rules of Regulation (EU) 2017/2158. Gulf labels follow GSO 9 with Arabic text, SFDA product registration applies for Saudi Arabia, and US importers verify the foreign manufacturer under the FSMA Foreign Supplier Verification Program. Cartons move in 40-ft high-cube reefers at -18 °C on FOB, CFR and CIF terms; minimum runs are confirmed per product and pack. Send the recipe, diameter, weight, pack, label and discharge port and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
