Canned peas and mixed vegetables are two related packs with two customs codes. Garden peas (Pisum sativum) in brine are HS 2005.40; mixtures - peas and carrots, macedoine of peas, carrots, green beans and sweet corn, and other vegetable combinations - fall under the residual HS 2005.99 with prepared vegetables not named elsewhere. Codex CXS 297-2009, the standard for certain canned vegetables, carries annexes for garden peas, carrots and green beans, and buyers specify sieve size, tenderness, colour, the proportion of each vegetable in a mixture and the net and drained weight. The retail can is the 400 g or 425 ml can, often with an easy-open end, and caterers and institutional kitchens buy the A10 or 2.5 kg can. Peas and mixed vegetables are low-acid foods, retorted to commercial sterility, with the best-before date set by the cannery. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations under HS 2005.40 total USD 312 million and about 214,700 MT across 89 reporters: Hungary USD 68 million and 44,800 MT, France USD 52 million and 35,500 MT, the Netherlands USD 32 million, Italy USD 26 million and 27,800 MT, China USD 24 million and 20,400 MT and Belgium USD 15 million. HS 2005.99 is a wide basket - USD 4.52 billion in 2024, with China at USD 1.33 billion, the Netherlands USD 352 million, Peru USD 301 million, Italy USD 283 million, Spain USD 233 million, France USD 204 million and Türkiye USD 156 million - and covers far more than mixed vegetables, so it is read as context, not as a mixed-vegetable market size.

The buyer is an importer-distributor, a supermarket private-label desk, a caterer or an institutional feeding contractor in the Gulf, Africa, South Asia or Europe, and the offer is a price per carton for a stated pack, sieve size, mix ratio and drained weight. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers canned peas and mixed vegetables from canneries in Hungary, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, China and Spain, in the cannery's brand or the buyer's private label, against the origin authority's health certificate, the cannery's certificate of analysis for drained weight, vacuum and seam checks, a certificate of origin and a halal certificate from a body the destination accepts. EU-bound cans are tested against Regulation (EU) 2023/915 - inorganic tin at no more than 200 mg/kg in canned food and lead at no more than 0.10 mg/kg in legume vegetables; Gulf labels follow GSO 9 with Arabic text and production and expiry dates; and US-bound cans need the cannery's food canning establishment registration and a scheduled process filed under 21 CFR 108 and 113. Linings are specified BPA-NI to meet Regulation (EU) 2024/3190. Cartons of retail or catering cans move palletised or floor-loaded in 20-ft or 40-ft dry containers on FOB, CFR and CIF terms; minimum runs are confirmed per product and pack. Send the pack, sieve size, mix, can, drained weight, label and discharge port and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
