Choline Chloride Feed Grade (Liquid, 60% on Corn Cob & 50% on Silica)

Liquid choline chloride and powders on corn cob or silica carriers, bought on content and carrier

Choline chloride is made in three reactions, methanol and ammonia to trimethylamine, trimethylamine with hydrochloric acid to its salt, and that salt with ethylene oxide to liquid choline chloride, and the feed trade buys it in two families. The liquid is an aqueous solution: the EU renewal of 2026 authorises it at 74% choline chloride minimum (3a890i), and the European Food Safety Authority noted that solutions of up to 70% are non-irritant to the eyes. The powder is made by spraying the liquid onto a carrier, corn cob, sugar beet pulp or silica, and drying it: the EU authorises solid preparations at 50% minimum (3a890ii), a 1989 US ruling described a 50% powder carrying 35% colloidal silicic acid, and a 1996 US ruling a Chinese feed additive of 60% choline chloride and 40% corn cob. The active substance is held to 99% minimum purity on an anhydrous basis with 2-chloroethanol at 30 mg/kg maximum, and EU labels for poultry and pig feed recommend not exceeding supplemental levels of 1,000 mg of choline chloride per kg of complete feed. The carrier decides the customs line: choline chloride dissolved in water stays under HS 2923.10, while powders on a carrier have been classified as feed preparations under 2309.90. UN Comtrade 2024 export declarations under HS 2923.10 total USD 228 million and 164,600 MT across 54 reporters: China USD 122 million and 102,700 MT, Belgium USD 44 million and 43,400 MT, the USA USD 22 million and 8,100 MT and India USD 12 million and 4,800 MT. Carrier powders declared under 2309.90 are not in those figures.

Chinese supply carries duties in both main import markets. The EU imposed definitive anti-dumping duties of 90.0% to 115.9% on choline chloride from China under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2589 of 18 December 2025, covering all forms and purities, on a carrier or not, at 30% choline chloride or more; the EU producers in that case are in Italy, Belgium and Spain. In the USA, Commerce initiated anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations on certain choline salts from China in July 2026, covering choline chloride in aqueous, crystallised, dried or encapsulated forms, with or without a carrier, at 30% or more. The buyer is a premix plant, compound feed mill or poultry integrator. CBIL is a commodity brokerage company and brokers choline chloride from producers in China, Belgium, Italy, Spain, the USA and India against the producer's certificate of analysis for choline chloride content, moisture and carrier, a certificate of origin, the EU identification number on EU-bound labels, the producer's FAMI-QS or GMP+ certificate and a halal certificate where the destination requires one. Choline chloride is hygroscopic, so the pack and storage conditions are part of the specification, and EU directions for use must state storage conditions and heat stability. Powder lots move in bags or bulk bags in containers and liquid in bulk or IBC packs, on FOB, CFR and CIF terms, priced per MT on content, carrier and pack; minimum lots are confirmed per product and pack. Send the form, content, carrier, volume, pack and discharge port, and the enquiry is screened and worked against it.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
