Pink Salt Bricks & Tiles

Hand-cut brick for salt walls & halotherapy rooms

Salt brick is a construction material that happens to be salt, and it is bought on dimensional tolerance and structural integrity rather than on chemistry. Standard formats run 8″×4″×2″ and 8″×4″×1″ for walls, with 12″×12″ and 8″×8″ tiles for floors and feature panels, cooking slabs at 12″×8″×1.5″ and 12″×12″×2″, and bespoke cuts to a drawing. What decides whether a consignment is usable is dimensional consistency across the pallet — a wall built from bricks varying by 3 mm will not course cleanly and the installer will be shimming every row — along with freedom from through-cracks and fissures, and whether faces are supplied natural (rough, textured, the look most halotherapy rooms want) or polished flat. Salt is hygroscopic, so moisture control in transit and a dry installation environment are not optional details; a wall in an unventilated wet room will weep.

This segment is driven by halotherapy and wellness construction — salt rooms and caves, spa and sauna walls, backlit feature panels in hotels and clinics, and increasingly domestic wellness rooms. The keyword picture supports it: "pink salt wall" alone runs around 140 searches a month in the US against modest competition, and the buyers behind it are spa builders and interior contractors, not consumers. Cooking slabs are a separate use of the same product — a thick block heated and used as a searing surface — and they need thicker section and a tighter crack tolerance because they are thermally cycled. What brick is not is a food ingredient or a lamp: lamp material is selected for translucency and drilled for a fitting, and food grade is washed and screened. CBIL supplies brick and tile against dimensional tolerance, crack inspection and moisture certification at load, palletised and shrink-wrapped for container shipment, on FOB Karachi and Port Qasim, CFR and CIF terms.

Pink Salt Bricks & Tiles — buyer questions

What tolerance should I insist on for a salt wall?

Ask for ± 2 mm across the pallet and mean it. Salt brick is hand-cut, so some variation is inherent, but a consignment drifting 3–4 mm will not course cleanly and your installer will shim every row — which costs far more in labour than the brick saved. Specify tolerance in the contract and have it checked on a sample of the pallet before shipment, not on arrival.

Natural or polished faces?

Natural for anything that should read as a salt cave or a textured feature wall — it is the standard halotherapy look and it diffuses backlighting better. Polished for floors, counters and contemporary panels where a flat plane and a cleanable surface matter. They price differently and they are not interchangeable once the design is set, so decide before ordering.

How do I stop a salt wall weeping after installation?

Control humidity. Salt is hygroscopic and will draw moisture out of damp air, so a wall in an unventilated wet room will sweat and eventually degrade. Salt rooms are built with dehumidification and controlled ventilation for exactly this reason. Ship dry, store dry, and make sure the room's mechanical design accounts for it — this is a building-services question more than a materials one.

Can cooking slabs use the same material as wall brick?

Same seam, tighter selection. A cooking slab is heated and cooled repeatedly, so it needs thicker section and a much stricter crack and fissure tolerance than a wall brick that just sits there — a hidden fissure in a thermally cycled slab is where it splits. Specify cooking slab explicitly rather than ordering thick wall brick and hoping.
