CBIL brokers black and white pepper from Indian and Vietnamese origins in the grades the trade contracts against: Malabar Garbled Level 1 (MG1) and Tellicherry Garbled Special Extra Bold (TGSEB) from Kerala, Vietnam ASTA 570 and 580 by bulk density, and white pepper Faq and double-washed. Bulk density (g/l) is the primary commercial grading variable — 500 g/l Faq material and 570/580 g/l ASTA grades price distinctly — while piperine content (typically 3–7%) drives pungency and matters most to oleoresin extractors and seasoning formulators.
Every lot ships against SGS or Intertek certification of bulk density, piperine, moisture, light berries, extraneous matter, ash and pesticide residue, with steam-sterilised and ETO-free options for EU and US entry and Salmonella-negative status where the destination requires it. Vietnam supplies the bulk of world volume and sets the price floor; Indian Tellicherry and Malabar carry a quality premium for aroma-led applications. Buyers include spice grinders, seasoning and meat processors, oleoresin extractors, retail packers and HORECA distributors. Supply is arranged in 25kg and 50kg jute or PP bags, container-load, on FOB, CFR and CIF terms.

What does ASTA 570 mean for black pepper?
It refers to bulk density — 570 grams per litre — which is the primary commercial grading variable for black pepper. Higher density means heavier, more mature berries and generally better piperine and appearance, so 580 prices above 570, which prices above 500 g/l Faq material.
Is Indian or Vietnamese pepper better?
They serve different needs. Vietnam supplies the bulk of world volume and is the price-efficient choice for general grinding and blending. Indian Tellicherry and Malabar carry a real aroma premium and are specified where the pepper is the flavour rather than a background note. We quote both.
Can you supply Salmonella-negative pepper?
Yes. Pepper is a recognised Salmonella risk, so we supply steam-sterilised material certified Salmonella-absent in 25g by SGS or Intertek where your food-safety programme requires it.
