Water-Soluble Fertilizers: MKP, Technical MAP & 19-19-19

MKP 0-52-34, technical-grade MAP 12-61-0 and NPK 19-19-19

Water-soluble fertilizers are sold on what does not dissolve. Monopotassium phosphate (MKP 0-52-34, KH₂PO₄) is a nitrogen-free phosphate and potash crystal used at flowering and fruit set; producer sheets give 99% minimum purity, 51.5% P₂O₅ and 34% K₂O minimum, water-insolubles at 0.1% maximum and moisture at 0.2% maximum. Technical-grade MAP 12-61-0 is the soluble phosphate for early growth and rooting, with insolubles held to about 0.1%. Balanced soluble NPK such as 19-19-19, often with trace elements, is a finished formulation for growers who do not mix their own. For all three the buyer checks insolubles, pH in solution, sodium, chloride and heavy metals, because residue blocks drip emitters and a single blocked system ends a supply relationship.

UN Comtrade 2024 data put reported exports of potassium phosphates (HS 2835.24, which covers MKP) at about USD 0.58 billion, led by China (48.0%) with Germany (9.2%), Belgium (6.5%) and the United States (4.9%) behind. Technical MAP is reported within all MAP (HS 3105.40, about USD 8.11 billion) and soluble NPK within HS 3105.20, so no separate figure exists for them. China restricted exports of DAP, MAP and certain NPK formulations from mid-March 2026, extended at least through August 2026, so a Chinese technical-MAP offer is worked only where the producer shows the product is cleared for export. CBIL brokers water-soluble fertilizers against an SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas certificate of analysis for nutrients, water-insolubles, moisture, pH and heavy metals, and cadmium where an EU buyer needs compliance with Regulation 2019/1009, with a certificate of origin, in 25 kg lined bags, palletised containers and jumbo bags. Prices are negotiated per MT on grade.

Excluded origins are not offered, including product re-exported, blended or re-processed through a third country. Every lot moves with a certificate of origin naming the producing plant, mine or grower country, and nothing is quoted before the seller and loading point are known.
