Mexican bulk marine solar salt and mineral halite harvested from the vast hypersaline coastal lagoons of Guerrero Negro, Baja California Sur, and loaded through the deepwater marine logistics terminal at Isla de Cedros, represents the largest single-site salt manufacturing and ocean export complex in the world. With an annual production run-rate exceeding 8.0 to 9.0 million metric tonnes, the operation produces halite with exceptional chemical purity consistently ranging between 98.5% and 99.5% NaCl on a dry basis, featuring native low moisture (<1.20% post-drainage/handling) and vanishingly low insoluble matter (<0.15%). The material is crushed, screened, and calibrated to meet rigorous highway de-icing standards including ASTM D632 Type I Grade 1, Ontario OPSS.PROV 2502, and Quebec BNQ 2410-200, as well as ultra-pure uninhibited feedstocks (0 ppm YPS) for electrochemical chlor-alkali membrane electrolysis.

Under CBIL Commercial Doctrine Rule 24, prospective municipal buyers, provincial agencies, and regional salt distributors can bypass the financial commitment and demurrage liability of a 50,000 MT charterparty by initiating a verified Starter-Trial. We execute 1 to 2 container test pilots (25 to 50 MT) packed in 1,000 kg heavy-duty polypropylene FIBC bags with 100 µm polyethylene inner liners, supplied with 21 days demurrage-free detention at Canadian (Montreal, Halifax, Toronto) and US Northeast ports. This enables real-world laboratory assays, spreader auger calibrations, and storage dome pile kinetics to be tested on-site. For deepwater receiving terminals along the St. Lawrence Seaway and US Atlantic seaboard, 3,000 to 5,000 MT partial bulk test parcels are available via co-discharge stems. Every consignment is inspected and certified at the Isla de Cedros loading terminal by SGS or Intertek for ASTM chemical assay, sieve gradation, moisture limits, and calibrated 50–100 ppm Yellow Prussiate of Soda (YPS) anti-caking application.
