Extracted from the rock salt deposits of the Mohammedia/Berrechid basins and solar salines along the Atlantic coast, the material enters international trade with a natural chemical purity consistently between 97.8% and 98.8% NaCl. With direct loading at deep-water Atlantic berths in the Port of Mohammedia and Port of Jorf Lasfar, Moroccan salt bypasses the Panama and Suez canals entirely, offering a direct 10-to-12 day ocean transit to Montreal, Quebec City, and Halifax.
Under CBIL Doctrine Rule 24, commercial buyers onboarding Moroccan salt can verify chemical assay, hopper flowability, and road spreader kinetics through a 1 to 2 container starter-trial (25 to 50 MT) packed in 1,000 kg moisture-proof polypropylene jumbo bags. For terminal operators and public works departments, 3,000 to 5,000 MT partial bulk parcels can also be co-chartered on scheduled Handysize vessels. Every shipment is independently certified by SGS or Bureau Veritas at the Moroccan loading port for ASTM D632 Type I Grade 1 compliance, particle gradation (2–10 mm), moisture limits (≤1.5%), and uniform 50–100 ppm Yellow Prussiate of Soda (YPS) anti-caking dosing.
